Jean Rose Kwek, born April 15, 1951 in Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away January 26, 2020 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 68. Jean was a strong, smart, loving and very sassy soul who was never afraid to speak her mind. Jean worked for as long as her health allowed her and she enjoyed every minute of it. In elementary school she would finish her work and then go around the classroom and talk to everyone else until the teacher tied her to her seat; this was one of her favorite stories to tell. She graduated from Romulus High School in 1969 and married shortly after. In April 1970 she and her husband Butch welcomed their only child, a son. Years later the two divorced and a few years after that Butchie graduated high school and enlisted in the Army. In March 1991 Jean became a grandma, then again in April 1993, and once more in August 2017. Jean loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. In June 1996 Jean married Scottlee, who she loved until the very end. In April 2012 she became a Great-grandma for the first time with several to follow and she was overjoyed. Throughout her life Jean travelled to many places, although her favorite trips to talk about were the several cruises she took. She also had the opportunity to live in several different places throughout her life: Michigan, Kansas, Florida, Colorado and Wyoming. She made many friends through her many moves, kept in touch with many while keeping all of them in her heart. Jean made a big difference in the lives of many with a friendly smile and a “how are you?” She made sure to express her love to all she loved every time she spoke to or saw them. She was a very supportive person who always pushed others to do and be their best. Jean was preceded in death by both of her parents Frederick G. Harris and Ruth M. Harris, as well as, her eldest sister Arlene R. Ellis. Jean is survived by her husband Scottlee T. Kwek, her son Ernest “Butchie” H. Kwek III, and her grandchildren Annejellica (Erich) Schlup, Ernest H. Kwek IV, and Willow R. Kwek. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Holcomb and her brothers Charles Harris and James Harris as well as 6 great- grandchildren. In honor of Jean’s wishes there will be no funeral service or gathering.
