Robert David Reynolds

Robert David Reynolds peacefully passed away on November 14, 2021 in Denver,  Colorado at the age of 88. Kind and loving, Robert lived a full life, enjoying family,  career, and the outdoors, all with his wry sense of humor. Robert was born on  December 17, 1932 to Edna Vichill Reynolds and Paul David Reynolds in Cleveland,  Ohio. Robert grew up in a two family home adjacent to Shaker Square typical of those  built in the 1920s. He was surrounded by his loving childhood family that included his  parents, sister Carol Reynolds Littleton, and at various times, grandmothers, aunts,  uncles and cousin, Norma Kosier Gersper.

After graduating from Bowling Green State University in 1956, Robert enlisted in the  Army during the Cold War and was stationed in Germany. Robert visited several of the  countries surrounding Germany on base leave days which sparked his interest for  European travel.

Robert met the love of his life, Marsha Carol Snowberger, on a blind date on New  Year’s Eve in 1962. A huge snowstorm blowing off Lake Erie that night allowed the  couple much time for conversation while driving to the party. A whirlwind of wonderful  dates followed in the months to come. Robert married Marsha on November 9, 1963  at the 6th United Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and were happily married for  58 years.

Robert graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a MBA in 1970. With the  growth of new office buildings and shopping centers in the 1950s and 1960s, Robert  enjoyed his chosen profession as a real estate appraiser, with a MAI designation.  Robert worked for Prudential Insurance Company and other large institutional lenders.  Later when real estate financing changed, he left appraising for a career in the field of  finance.

Robert, Marsha, and their two young sons, Stephen Paul Reynolds and David Neal  Reynolds, moved to Evergreen, Colorado in 1973. Growing up as city dwellers, Robert  and Marsha enthusiastically embraced the outdoor lifestyle of Colorado. When the  snow started piling up, Robert and Stephen headed to learn to ski. Later the whole  family joined, spending ski time together at Loveland and Winter Park. With Evergreen  Lake close to their house, the family loved ice skating and David learned to play  hockey. His fishing expeditions frequently led to camping meals without fish, but  beautiful hiking adventures.

Robert read avidly throughout his life, with his high school teacher introducing him to  The Atlantic Monthly and literary journals. In retirement years, Robert and Marsha  moved to Denver, where they delighted in walking the family dog in city parks,  spending time in bookstores, and watching Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche  games. Robert formed close friendships with members and pastors at his church.

Survived by his wife, Marsha Carol Reynolds, sons Stephen Paul Reynolds and David  Neal Reynolds, sister Carol Reynolds Littleton, nephew Paul Edward Littleton, niece

Anne Littleton Mota, grandnephew Anthony Mota, grandniece Briana Mota, and cousin  Norma Kosier Gersper.

A church service will be held on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 1:30pm at Highlands  Lutheran Church in Denver, CO. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, if you plan to attend  please email your name(s) to pastor@highlandslutheran.org
