Gary Lyle Turner
Gary Lyle Turner, born August 28, 1946 in Burbank, California, passed away peacefully in Parker, Colorado, on November 16, 2021, after living several years with Alzheimer’s.
The son of Lyle and LaVerne Turner, he followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming an airline pilot. He retired after over 30 years flying for Frontier and Continental Airlines and UPS. Gary married his high school sweetheart, Mona Stewart, in 1967 and they had two children, Christine Ann (Bryan Garver) and Timothy Lyle. After a brief stay in Wichita, the family settled in Colorado, which suited Gary perfectly. They also owned a home in Anthem, Arizona. He loved the mountains, fishing, camping and hunting, as well as golf and long bike rides.
He was proud of his children and grandchildren, Kendall and Colton Warembourg (Shaylene) , Cody and Kinzley Turner, Aidan Garver and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Warembourg. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Linda Katz (Phil) of Seattle and Laurel Turner (Roger) of San Francisco.
Gary was fortunate in his family life and in the years of enjoyment he found in his many outdoor activities. He will be greatly missed. The family is grateful for the excellent care he received in his last days at Assured Assisted Living, especially to Mary.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 4, 2021 at 11:00am at UCC Hilltop, 10926 Democrat Road, Parker, CO 80134.
