Daniel Herbert Gullick
Daniel Herbert Gullick of Aurora, Colorado passed away suddenly after a brief illness on September 16, 2021 at the age of 68. Born in Rochester, NY to Shirley Whittemore Gullick and Herbert Durant Gullick, M.D., Daniel graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School (NY) in 1971. Daniel also earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Potsdam, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of the Delta Kappa Theta fraternity.
“Danny” was a very gentle and peaceful person and was a faithful friend to many. He especially delighted in his relationship with his “little sister” Carolyn from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America program. Danny cherished all of his Shetland Sheepdog companions, including Carly, Bandit, Simon, Artie, Ricky, and most recently Scout. Through his life he enjoyed working in a variety of different industries, including restaurants, banking, and trucking, and he really loved living in the Denver area for the past 30 years.
Daniel will be sorely missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his brother Richard W. Gullick (wife Wendy) of Leominster, MA, his uncle Robert V. Todd, Sr., aunt Susan Whittemore, and all of his Whittemore cousins. Dan was predeceased by both parents, and by his brothers David M. Gullick and Durant W. Gullick.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date in DeWitt, NY for family and friends, with interment of ashes at White Chapel Memory Gardens on Kinne Rd. in DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Denver Dumb Friends League animal shelter (www.ddfl.org) or Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America (www.bbbs.org/).
