Minell White
November 27, 1937 – October 23, 2021
Minell White passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side in her home in Arvada, Colorado.
Minell was born to Alma and Glenn Garrett in El Paso, Texas in 1937. During her childhood, the family lived in Texas and eventually moved to California where she graduated from High School. She later moved to Austin, Texas to be closer to her sister Glenda. It was there she met her husband for over 50 years, Richard White.
Minell loved spending time with Richard. She supported him coaching their sons’ baseball teams and encouraged him to pass along his love of golf to them. The couple enjoyed family meals with Alton, Patricia and Edward after the boys had left home as well as traveling with them to Canada, Colorado, Las Vegas and New York. Minell and sister Glenda were very close and they shared a love of fashion and enjoyed shopping together for colorful clothes and jewelry. Upon Richard’s passing in 2018, she moved to Arvada, Colorado to be closer to her grandsons Austin and Evan.
She always treated everyone fairly, with care and kindness. She was true to her beliefs throughout her life. Her bravery, strong will and determination served her well through difficult times, family losses and her own health issues.
She is survived by her two sons, Christian White of Dover, Ohio and Mahlon ‘Mike’ White, daughter-in-law Lisa Warther-White, grandsons Austin and Evan White – all of Arvada, Colorado; in-laws Patricia and Edward Keller of Austin, Texas.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard White; sister Glenda Gilbert, brother-in law Lanvil Gilbert; brother-in-law Alton White.
She believed what Dr. Martin Luther King espoused -
“The time is always right to do what is right”
