Nina Ottis, 28 left this earth on March 10 th , 2020. She was the mother of William Paul Burra, and the sister of Stacy Rosen, Amanda Ottis, Lygea Welvaert, Daja Larson, Michael Ottis, and Ryan Farris. She was born on April 26 th 1991 to Carol and Kevin Blanchard at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She was adopted by Pamela Rose Ottis and Paul Soren Ottis shortly after her birth and was raised with her six brothers and sisters. Her Lifelong friend Rachel Kozin described her as goofy and full of life. Nina was a wonderful writer, poet, and artist and her creative ideas were illustrated throughout her life; As a child she rode horses in Oklahoma, participated in Figure skating, Piano Lessons and took Irish dancing lessons. Nina and her biological sister Stacy were inseparable as kids through adulthood and even though they were born a few years apart, everyone swore they must have been twins.
Nina loved music, in all its forms. When she danced and sang, she lit up the room with her contagious smile and laughter. She was known to be shy, yet she had a powerful and free spirit that took her to new and exciting places all over the U.S.A. Her hobbies were hiking, camping, riding ATV’s and spending all her free time in the great outdoors.
Nina loved being a mother and spoke about how much she loved her son William. She had him at the age of 19 and raised him while pursuing a career in Cosmetology. Her journey took her and William to Colorado for a few years where she raised him with the idea that the outdoors is the best part of life, often taking him to the high peak mountains to explore. She worked hard to provide the best life for her family.
Although Nina is no longer with us, her spirit lives in each of those who were blessed to have known her.
