Sampson Riley Whittemore, age 35, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home in Denver Colorado. He was born April 15, 1984, in Denver, to Sonja Corbett and Michael Whittemore. He married Senneca Harris-Williams on March 15, 2019 after 3 years. He worked as a union member for various top construction companies, displaying a get-it-done attitude, he was a hard worker and friendly teammate. Many knew Sampson only through the lens of the mental health issues and addictions he battled for years. He was much more than that, He was always reliable and devoutly supported his family and sought out knowledge, books, and all humans. He was a genius who liked to fix cars, read, spend time with his children, and meet new people. Sampson truly lived life to the absolute fullest. He had a huge heart to help anyone in need and was super loyal to his family, friends, and mankind. He was a man who ended nearly every conversation with those he cared for with 'love you'; and one who considered his close friends and cousins to be like brothers and sisters, which he often called them. In the last days of Sampson’s life he worked to become a humbled citizen and strove to love and to provide for his family no matter the cost in a world that seemed unsympathetic. He had imminent plans to seek professional help. Although he was a very joyful person all the time, the sadness in his eyes was evident, as he fought within himself to judge right and wrong but he could not let go of his demons. Despite this, he always had great expectations, high hopes, and strong desires for the future. God called him home too soon but in His divine way. His legacy is survived by his wife, Senneca; his parents, his son Sampson II and his daughter Allegra, three sisters Ivy (Ryan), Heather and Lily. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Donna and Don Corbett of Englewood. He is also survived by his uncles, Kevin and Terry Whittemore of, his cousin Jonathan Chouaf, as well as several beloved Aunts, Cousins, uncles and Friends. Cremation arrangements are currently being handled by Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welby. His memorial will be held at Bear Valley Fellowship from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you intervene with all family members to aid any self destructive humans and to always be accessible to them no matter what. They also ask that no judgement be passed and to consider substance abuse as a disease and to remember Sampson for his loving, loyal, life of the party nature.
