Michael “Mike” James Keller, of Denver, CO, passed away at The Denver Hospice on January 2, 2020. Mike was born May 13, 1957 the son of Charles R. and Clare I. (McLaughlin) Keller in Mansfield, Ohio. Mike graduated from Jamestown High School, Jamestown, ND in the class of 1976. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1976-1980. He was very proud to serve his country. He lived in Bismarck, ND from 1980- mid-1980’s when he moved to Denver, CO. In Denver he worked for several industries, most recently he joined staff at the Catholic Charities in Denver. There he assisted people with housing issues until he could no longer work due to his illness. Earlier in life Mike, and his brother John, were in Boy Scout Troop 106 in Mansfield, OH and Charlie (father) as the Scout Master. He enjoyed fishing (the most), camping, swimming and was a very talented artist. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Charles R. and Clare I. (McLaughlin) Keller, and his grandparents C. Richard and Dorothy A. (Bush) Keller, John I. and Esther “Peg” A, (Pittenger) McLaughlin. And several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves behind his son James Michael Keller, his wife Lacey, grandchildren Riley and Lilly. Daughter Kayla Beth Keller. He shared his children with former spouse Sharon Williams. All of South Sioux City, NE. His siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Keller, Pueblo, CO. John, his wife Roxanne (Kamoni) Keller, Middleburg, FL. Nancy (Keller, Garvey), her husband Blaine Johanneson, Mandan, ND. Nephew Christopher Lee and his wife Jennifer (Fergis) Nichols, Aurora, CO. Nephews Christopher Charles Keller, grand-nieces Aubrey and Scarlett, and Mark Allen Keller, Middleburg, FL. Nephew David and his wife Chao (Linn) Goorskey, grand-nephews Dersu, Benjamin, and grand-niece Eva. Nephews and nieces Steven A. Garvey, Christine M. (Garvey) Emineth, grand-nephews Jonathan and Orlando Emineth, Blaine D. Jr. “DJ” and his spouse Austin Johanneson-Loaks. All of Bismarck, ND. Shaun E. his wife Sara (Lesnau) Johanneson, grand-nephews Felix and Darwin of New Hope, MN. Nicole E. Johanneson, fiancé William Chessmore, Elk River, MN. His close friend Patrick “Pat” Garvey, Mandan, ND. His family wishes a special thank you to Hilary Getty of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System Homeless and Vocational Program for helping Michael through his difficult illness and reconnect with his family.
