Ivory O'Roy
Ivory, or as his family and friends affectionately referred to him “J.R.”, was born on February 8, 1980 to the union of Elveria and Ivory O’Roy, Sr. He had three older brothers when he came to this world; Elias Diggins, Enrique Diggins and Christopher Diggins. His younger brother Ilo O’Roy would be born three years after him.
Elveria and Ivory raised their sons in Montbello, a culturally rich neighborhood in Denver, CO. J.R. and his brothers loved spending time together as kids and could be found riding their bikes everywhere, playing street football or sitting outside cracking jokes about each other. One of J.R.’s favorite places to hang out was the Montbello Recreation Center, where they would spend hours in the summer time swimming.
J.R. was a proud 1998 Montbello High School graduate, where he also played football. He loved those formidable years and made many friendships that lasted a lifetime. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves and spent time in Texas, Hawaii and Japan.
He later met the love of his life, Sabrina Givhan and together they brought into this world Saniya Siam O’Roy, Jaydin Ivory O’Roy and Serenidee Nevaeh Givhan. Ivory loved them all with every ounce of his being.
