David Montgomery Williams II Born March 7, 1943 Died July 8, 2022

David was born on March 7,1943 to Helen Lucy Montgomery, even though the union with David’s father never materialized due to unfortunate circumstances with WWII he grew up in a loving home with his stepfather Silas Ray Richardson Sr, two brothers Silas Ray Richardson Jr (deceased) and Thomas William Richardson. David had two Sisters Winona Diane Richardson-Robinson (deceased) and Janice Elaine Richardson-Smuda (Joseph Smuda) David went to Denver Elementary, Junior High schools and gradated from Manual High School.

David moved to San Francisco, Pacifica, and Monterey California where he attended a night college and started an African clothing store to sell Dashiki shirts and African dresses from West Africa. He met and Married LaVern Dews in which he had a son Kevin David Williams.

David worked on poetry and published a book of poems and was a Disc Jockey at many midnight jazz venues.

David rose to management wherever he was employed, he worked for HCA Health One Senior Collection Specialist medical billing company and worked at Continental Airlines until they filed bankruptcy. He worked at several night clubs here in Denver like

David was a mentor to his stepdaughter Kendal Mitchell-Martin when he and Marian Mitchell were together for many years. Although never tying the proverbial knot but staying lifetime friends. His love for Kendall never waivered and he was instrumental in molding her into the women she is today.

David was the type of person to argue you down over the most trivialist matters and always had to be right, but that was David. He loved to bowl and listen to jazz. He also loved to read novels and research anything he had an interest in but didn’t know about. He could do most handyman work and had a tool for everything. Many times, we called him Inspector Gadget.

David went to many black-tie affairs, fashion shows and always had a beautiful lady on his arm.

David leaves behind an estranged son Kevin David Williams of Portland, Oregon, a stepdaughter Kendall Mitchell-Martin of Washington D.C. one brother Thomas W. Richardson and one sister Janice E. Smuda (Joseph). Several nieces Karen Thomas, Winona Carter, Xena Flemister, Araya Flemister, Xolani Flemister, Tracy Jones, Sabrina Thomas and Solarra Flemister (deceased). Nephews are Bruce Thomas, Brian Thomas, Larry Flemister, Farron Flemister, William Richardson, Terry Robinson, Keith Robinson, Dakari Flemister , Tayvion Davis and Lewey Thomas and a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins ranging from Colorado, California, Georgia, and Washington.

We will never forget our brother, uncle, and friend sleep for now honey until Jesus calls you to awaken John 5:28-29
