Pamela Dorothea Small

Pamela Dorothea Small, age 64, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Pamela was born April 7, 1958, in Ogden Utah, to Lennell and Orzal Small. She attended Clearfield Public Schools until the family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1969. She graduated from South High School in 1976. Pam lived in Denver and the surrounding areas throughout her life. It’s said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and that’s where you could always find Pam cooking up one amazing meal after another. Whether for 1 or a 101, she was always willing to serve, and could always be trusted to make a joke and bring laughter to any room. As a young girl and for much of her adult life, she worked in bar kitchens with her stepfather, Martin. That’s where she was in her element, every day a party, and making so many life-long friends along the way. Her friend group was incredibly diverse. She judged people on the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Never giving up cooking, she moved on to janitorial and caretaking in her later years, a natural progression of her passion for tending to people’s needs. She was a fierce and loyal friend, sibling, cousin, niece, and aunt to so many. Every niece and nephew she had, claimed her as their second mother. She was ferociously edicated to her only child, Reyan Lennell Hill. Pam/Gigi devoted the last 18 months of her life caring for her much-loved grandchildren, Kaidan Tru and Royal Blu, storing the treasure of her memory in their hearts forever. Pam was the embodiment of unconditional, selfless love, the most generous person any of us have ever known. She would give the shirt off her back, and more, to anyone who asked. She had a legendary temper, especially when it came to injustice, but she was just as quick to apologize, and mean it. If she loved you, you knew it, and could always trust her to have your back. Christian in faith, her pastor led her in her final hour to finally concede her fierce and fearless battle with pancreatic cancer. In faith and peace, she left this earth for her new kitchen in her forever home, where we know she is joyfully cooking for the many loved ones who passed before her. Pamela is survived by her mother and Father, Lennell and Martin Avery of Denver, Co. Her daughter Reyan Hill and grandchildren Kaidan and Royal Porter of Denver, Co. Her sister Wanda Jones, brother Douglas Small, brother J. Scott and his wife Lisa Small, sister Teri Small, sister Sheri and her husband Steve Dennis, sister Danielle and her husband Ron Delille, all from Denver, Co, and stepsisters, Erin (Eddie), Terry and Kim Avery, from Houston, Tx. She also leaves behind her sister Assiyah and her husband Lynwood Spell of Baton Rouge, La.- and many other relatives too numerous to count, who are spread across the country. Lastly, she leaves her longtime boyfriend Steve Graham, who stood by her ‘til the very end.
