Matthew “Matt” Alan Maykowski

Matt was born August 30,1987 in Denver, Colorado to parents Mark Maykowski and Kimberly VanHazel Maykowski. Matt passed away peacefully March 13,2022 at Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree, Colorado while holding his mom’s (Dawn) hand, with his dad and brother by his side.

Matt grew up like any typical strong-willed rambunctious boy playing football and many other sports. Matt enjoyed rough housing with his brothers and making sure his sister was always treated with the utmost respect. Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing street hockey with friends and family as well as kicking a ball around with his siblings. Matt was raised by his loving mother Dawn Maykowski and father Mark Maykowski who taught him the “ways” of the land.

Matt is survived by his son Lane Maykowski, his parents Mark and Dawn Maykowski, his two brothers Tyler and Kyle Maykowski, his sister Mariah and brother in-law Justin Buffalo and their 3 children. His grandmas, Vicki Maykowski, Carole Martin and Lynn Van Hazel as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Matt is proceeded in death by his birth mother Kimberly VanHazel Maykowski and grandfathers; Leonard Maykowski, Gary Martin, and Jim Van Hazel.

A Memorial service will be held April 23, 2022, at Running Creek Manor 4739 County Rd 166, Elizabeth, CO 80107 from 10-12pm. A gathering to share your memories and say your goodbyes.
