Sandra Kay VanDoorn

Sandra Kay VanDoorn passed away in the early morning hours of October 26, 2022, only weeks after her illness was discovered at the age of 70.

Sandra is survived by her husband David VanDoorn, her sister Dori (w. Roy) Saltow, her children Ray VanDoorn, Jaysn (w. Jessy) Van Doorn, and Angela Ridpath, grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Cody, Eathan, Logan, Grace, Jack, and Owen, and great grandchildren Daxton and Grace.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Melvin Brandow and her daughter Dina Marie Gilbert.

Sandra was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan in 1952 and moved to Texas later in life. She met David at a dance for Parents without Partners in 1988 and married on January 4, 1989.They later moved to Colorado, where they enjoyed their life and family together for over 33 years.

Sandra loved her family first and foremost, and was blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with her great grandson Daxton, who affectionately referred to her as GG (short for Great Grandma). Sandra loved spending time at their summer home in Grand Lake, and would only return to Bennett for a week or two before returning to Grand Lake during the summer months. Sandra had a soft heart for animals having 3 dogs and a cat at the time of her passing.

Sandra will be missed by all of her family and anyone lucky enough to experience her love.
