JUNE MARIE WELCH

June M Welch of Denver passed away on October 15, 2022. Born June 1st 1934 in Baltimore, MD she moved to Southern California in 1958, and arrived in Denver in 2011.

June was an amazing woman. She raised 3 children, worked as a RN, and earned a BSN and Master’s in Health Administration.

As a Rotary member in Port Hueneme, CA she volunteered and raised money for LIGA international (The Flying Doctors of Mercy), which provides free healthcare and education in Mexico. Recognition for her service culminated in her being named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International.

June also worked with the National Disaster Medical Team following Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, MS and devastating floods in North Dakota.

Her passion for service led her to pursue becoming a minister for the Center for Spiritual Living.

Celebrations of her life will be held in Denver and California. As a lifelong advocate for animals, for those who are inclined, in lieu of flowers June would be thrilled for donations in her name be sent to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee (www.elephants.com).

June is survived by her children Kipp Longo (Michelle Longo), Jeff Longo (Rich Kadinger), and Lahra Welch (Sid Blitz); her brother Harry Welch (Cindee Welch); and her beloved canine companion of over 14 years, Zack.
