Berlina Montez

Berlina Montez, born April 11, 1937 and was called home on January 15, 2022.

Berlina was born in Walsenburg Colorado, she was known by family and friends as Bobbie. Bobbie had a great sense of humor, was feisty as hell, loved to dance and listening to her favorite music. Bobbie also loved to eat fudge, nutty bars and her candy bars. Bobbie most of all is loved and will be terribly missed by everyone who knew her.

Bobbie is proceeded in death by her parents Amadeo and Reyes Gallegos, her husband Jose Florencio Montez (Polo), her two infant children Nancy Lee and James Montez, her siblings Juanita Maes, Dorothy Gallegos, Laura Duran, Eutima Gallegos, Edward Gallegos and Arthur Gallegos.

Bobbie is survived by her children William Montez, Steve Montez (Monica) and April Carreras (Vincent), her grandchildren Angel, Brandon, Christian and Dakota, her sisters Tina Maldonado, Stella Martinez and Berla Martinez. Bobbie also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobbie’s family would also like to thank the staff, nurses and chaplains at Compassus Hospice as they were all wonderful to her. Bobbie loved all her nurses.

Services will be Monday March 14, 2022 at Holy Ghost Church at 10:00am. We will then meet at the Madonna Mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery right after the service, and we will have a reception at 8880 Washington St. family is asking to bring a dish or drink or anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated
