Peyton Aaron Rapier

It is with immense sadness that the family of Peyton Aaron Rapier announces his passing on May 30, 2021 at the age of 25 in Colorado.

Peyton was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 1, 1996 and raised in a loving family. He was fortunate to live in and travel to many places in his life. He began attending school in Germany, and went on to attend schools in Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Scotland, and Hawaii. He adapted and showed incredible resilience with each move, making lasting friendships in each location. He graduated high school from Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy, where he participated competitively in cross country and wrestling.

After graduation from high school, Peyton moved to Colorado and fell in love with the state’s mountains. He loved adventure. He ascended many of Colorado’s peaks, but there was always a new mountain peak he wanted to ascend.

Peyton was witty, handsome, intelligent, adventurous, and fiercely loyal. He was protective of his friends and family, and he had a soft spot for animals. He made a tremendous and lasting impact on those who knew him.

Peyton is survived by his parents, Robert Rapier and Sandy Staggs, as well as his sister Courtney Rapier and his brother Luke Rapier. He is the grandson of Jim and Irma Staggs, Alice Raper, and the late A.J. Raper.  We all love him immensely and will miss him forever.

A celebration of Peyton’s life will be held on June 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Olive Branch Baptist Church at 205 Dalton Avenue in Valliant, Oklahoma.
