Jordan Michael McCreary

November 21, 1989 – March 23, 2021

The world lost one of its brightest lights in the passing of Jordan Michael McCreary of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Mukilteo, Washington. Jordan was born in Redmond, Washington to his loving parents Tony and Anne McCreary.

Jordan was cheerful and kind, and excelled in sports including field hockey, soccer, and football, but quickly discovered baseball was his passion.  As a young child and into his teen years, he was fascinated with fire control and rescue, attending various camps and trainings like the National Fire and Emergency Service Conference, the Snow Isle Vocational program, and his local Fire Explorer’s Club. In Colorado he enjoyed the great outdoors – camping, fishing, and snowboarding in the Rockies.

Jordan had a creative mind. He taught himself to play the bass guitar, design movies on his computer, and paint. Jordan enjoyed a wide variety of music, including his favorite band, Minus the Bear.

Jordan received his degree in Hospitality Management from Steamboat Community College in 2011.  He continued his education years later, graduating in May 2019 with his bachelor’s degree in Project Management. Jordan passed the PMP certification (March 2020) and excelled through multiple promotions as a Project Manager with Comcast.  Jordan was extremely dedicated and found tremendous enjoyment in his field, and always came prepared to team meetings with a joke, a trait that his team is continuing to carry on in his memory.

Jordan met the love of his life, Laura Rose Miller, in June of 2019.  As Laura says, "It was so easy to be with Jordan, he was instantly on board with going everywhere".  Jordan said, "dating Laura was like a first date that never ended." Laura and Jordan wasted no time and immediately began traveling within two weeks of meeting each other. What started over tacos and a plus one to a wedding in Malibu, quickly became a wedding of their own. Laura and Jordan were married in October of 2020 and were planning their wedding reception in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with friends and family flying in from around the world. Laura and Jordan continued their travels until Jordan's passing and planned to relocate to New Zealand in 2022.

If you never had the opportunity to meet Jordan, the people who knew him best would tell you he was the perfect stranger and would do anything to help someone who needed it. Jordan had a contagious laugh and always came prepared with the best (worst) jokes. He could quote entire movies with his sister Julie, spend hours and hours dreaming about his future from a hot tub with his wife Laura, talk sports endlessly with his best friend Ben, and could reel in the best catches with his mom and stepdad John on frequent fishing trips to Seattle. Jordan would tell you to go for it, take the chance, try new things, go on that date, Go Rockies, Go Seahawks, and enjoy every minute.

Jordan was preceded in death by his grandpa Val McCreary (2010), and his dad Tony Ross McCreary (2011). Jordan is survived, celebrated, and remembered by many; his wife Laura Rose Miller, his mom Anne Martinis, stepdad John Martinis, sister Julie Westberg, brother Ryan McCreary, step siblings Chris & Melissa Martinis and Savannah & Thomas Carmack, nephew Wyatt Westberg, his maternal grandparents, Veronica and George Binczewski (Dzia Dzia & Babci), and grandmother Jeannie McCreary, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a million friends who all knew and loved Jordan deeply.
