Frederick John Berger

Frederick John Berger was born to Fred and Marcella Berger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 25, 1943.  Fred grew up in Colorado Springs and went to the University of Colorado in Boulder for his higher education. He earned a Masters Degree in English from CU.  Fred went to work at the Colorado State Capitol Building proofing and editing legislative bills for 30+ years.  He then retired to the mountain home that he shared with his partner, Roger Martin.  Fred loved the mountain life and enjoyed views of local wild animals.  He fed hundreds of hummingbirds over many years.  Fred had a love for dogs who shared his mountain home.  Fred also had a love for “O” scale toy trains and spent many hours setting up and changing layouts and was often increasing his engine inventory.

Fred was a unique and interesting character.  He is and will always be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Rest well, our beloved Fred.
