Frederick (“Fred”) Edgar Wood, age 59, passed away on June 14th, 2020 in Parker, Colorado. Fred passed away from heart complications while being surrounded by his family. Fred was born in a military base in Germany on May 16th, 1961 to Donald Fred and Eunice Kay (Hopkins) Wood. He moved around to several different military bases growing up, finally settling in Woodbine, Iowa. Fred attended Woodbine High School and the University of Iowa.

Fred married Lisa Lea (Renberg) on March 12th, 1994 at Chapel at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. Fred and Lisa have two children with Lisa: Alexa Katherine (26) and Jackson Donald (24) both live in Aurora, Colorado. The Wood family moved several times during Fred’s career including Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina. The Wood family had recently moved back to Colorado to be together.

Fred looked forward to spending time on his boat, sport fishing, and relaxing by the pool in the Florida Keys. He enjoyed playing golf with his son, Jackson, and watching the Denver Broncos football games with his family and old western movies with his father-in-law Leo. He adored his English Mastiffs: Homer, Elwood, and Thelma. He looked forward to throwing huge parties, entertaining at our house and always made sure everyone had a really good time. He always had a great joke, story or his many “teachings” to share. He was an amazing public speaker. He was “The Best Salesman.” He loved listening to classic rock music like Little Feet, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty and loved attending numerous concerts over the years. Fred enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and building home projects with his extensive collection of tools. He was a member of several pool leagues and competed in pool tournaments regularly. He would often say, at the crucial moment, “Now would be the time.”

Fred always did everything last minute. Lisa would say “that’s just how Freddie rolls” and his family lived everyday with him on “Fred Time.” Fred was a wonderful husband and father. Life with Fred was always an adventure and NEVER boring. He was larger than life. He will be missed everyday.
