Eric Allan Whitney passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020. Born on August 20, 1959 in Denver, CO to Gene and Velma Whitney. Survived by his loving wife Betsy Whitney, his mother Velma Whitney, his siblings Jeanine New (Hamilton, MT), Karen Richey (Boise, ID), Colleen Whitney (Berkeley, CA), Wayne Whitney, and numerous treasured nieces and nephews.
Eric graduated from Nederland High School in Nederland, CO. He carried on the family entrepreneurial spirit, running the family business and later founding one of his own. He finally became a long time employee of Vision Chemical Systems, which enabled him to be creative, build systems and support his household. He had a loving and generous approach to life, nurturing many enduring relationships. He was the pillar of support for those around him, offering a helping hand, a few dollars, or company for an afternoon—anything that friends and family needed. He loved cycling, music, reading, traveling to visit siblings, great food and a good conversation. He will be sorely missed.
