Mrs. Shirley Marie Kunzie Deering of Runnells, Iowa, daughter of George William Kunzie and Estella Fern Kunzie, lived for many years in San Diego, California, where she enjoyed the sunny weather and the beach with friends and family. During her life, she was a technician creating aircraft parts, a dental laboratory assistant, a nurse aide to both children and the elderly, and a devoted mother. She was an extraordinary sculptor, restorative artist, and painter in oil, capturing the essence of the sea, roses, and the individual in formal portraiture. She enjoyed radio talk shows, floral gardening, natural history, and astronomy. As a kind and generous person, she was adored by all whom knew her. Her presence will be forever missed.
