Glenn Douglas Watts
Watts, Glenn Douglas
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Glenn Douglas Watts, loving, devoted, and hard-
working husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Glenn died on Sunday, October
11, 2020, in Thornton, Colorado at the age of 72 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Kay; children; Doug (Sandy), Jeff (Cheryl), and
Brandi (Ruben); 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother Gary Watts and sister Linda (Warren)
Tardie; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Dove Dick and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
He was born on January 24, 1948 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Ruth and Ralph Watts. He grew up in N.
Easton, MA where he lived out his childhood days on Glenn Road surrounded by grandparents, aunts,
uncles, and cousins.
He graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Air Force where he was
stationed in Denver, Colorado at Lowry Air Force base. It was there he met his wife, Kay and they went
on to have Doug, Jeff and Brandi. After a short time in Massachusetts they eventually made Colorado
their home.
His avionics training in the service led him to Listen Up in Denver where he worked for 35 years. Some of
the well-known venues he worked on while there included Rainbow Music Hall and Folsom Field. He had
a lifelong love for space travel and NASA. He even recorded audio on reel to reel tape of the first
manned space flight of John Glenn. Another joy in his life was attending NHRA drag races at Bandimere
Speedway in Morrison, Colorado where he watched his granddaughter, Sierra, compete in a junior
dragster. In later years he took up photography, following in his dad’s footsteps. He loved nothing more
than capturing Colorado’s beauty and his family on film.
He will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
