Ruth Ward went home to the Lord, Monday May 13, 2019, she was 88 years old. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Albert and Marie Erickson, brothers and sisters, William, Eleanor, Florence, Robert and Clarence “Sonny”, husband Paul, daughter Shirley “Cookie” and son Keith. Ruth was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN and recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family.
She married Paul Ward in 1952 and they had 6 children together, Kathleen, Barbara, Martin, Keith, Shirley and Timothy. Ruth has 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Michelle, Ashley, Krystal, Brandon, Austin and Natalie and 8 great-grandchildren. Ruth will be remembered as an independent lady who loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved decorating for the seasons and holidays and enjoyed flowers very much. She was a lady with an eye for a sale. Christmas for the grandchildren was always a very special occasion and is remembered fondly as a time of family, food, presents and lots of love and laughs. She was a strong supporter of the Armed Services, especially the Marines, as her grandson Austin is currently serving in the Marines.
A memorial will be planned with family in the future. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
