John Steven Champagne, 68, A United States Veteran, from Pawtucket, RI passed and went to heaven on April 13, 2019 in Loveland, Colorado surrounded by his son Brian and sister Linda. He was one of five children born to the late Raymond Champagne and the late Alyce Abbott Champagne. John is survived by his children, Brian Moors Champagne of Loveland, CO, twin to the late Jeffrey Moors Champagne, Eric Moors Champagne and his wife Nicole Mercado-Champagne of Warwick, RI. John's siblings include his deceased brother, Edward Champagne, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Raymond Champagne and his wife Mary Driscoll Champagne of Canton, GA MaryAnn Champagne McKitchen of Chepachet, RI and the late Gary Joseph McKitchen, also Linda Champagne-Ancona and her husband Clifford P. Ancona of Warwick, RI. John was married to Sharon L. Moors Champagne-Cournoyer for 25 years. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins that are truly heartbroken, especially Keith A. Moors, Sr, of North Providence, RI Kevin Perry and brother Tony Perry. John graduated from Tolman High School. Due to John's love for music, he attended RISD receiving his Degree in Communication and Broadband graduating in the top of his class. John received his Class A CDL License and worked for the State of Rhode Island and the Pawtuxet Valley Transit Authority for 12 years receiving many Safety Driving Awards. Following that position he was the head groundskeeper for some of the top golf courses in the state of Rhode Island. He also was the head chef for local pizza restaurants. Before taking sick John was the night manager at the Woonsocket Motor Inn for 15 years. It was at that point that John had to move to Colorado to be cared for by his son Brian Moors Champagne. The family will be having a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Saturday May 18, 2019 at the Providence Memorial Funeral Home 671 Broad Street Providence, RI 02907.
