NORMA ROSE LASHAM SHERMAN

Norma Rose Lasham Sherman passed away on July 15, 2022. She was born on November 3, 1922 in Denver, Colorado. Norma spent her whole life in Colorado. Her only sibling was Robert William Lasham, also deceased.

After graduating From North High School, she further continued her studies part time and due to her love for children she went to work for a pediatrician. Norma married Richard Mark Sherman in 1943 and they had five children: Richard Mark Sherman Jr., Carol Lee Sherman Lawrence (Mark), Linda Sherman Dardano, Michael Sherman (Floy) and Meridyth Sherman Lucas (Grant). She is survived by her two children Linda and Mike; 7 of her grandchildren, Carol Sherman Zaist, Michael Sherman, Megan Lawrence Corbin, Courtney Lawrence Becker, Jamie Lucas, Carly Lucas Arnold, and Josh Dardano as well as 5 great grandchildren: Dylan and Johnny Becker, James Dardano, Esme and Morgan Lucas.

Norma was one of those special people loved by all especially her family. With her bright blue eyes, wonderful smile and loving ways, she touched all who knew her. She always made time for her children’s many activities and was very involved with volunteering at the schools they attended. She began working for the Cherry Creek School District in 1960 as a volunteer librarian and quickly worked her way up the ladder, retiring as secretary to the Superintendent. She was honored by the district with the prestigious Russel C. Poulton award. Norma never turned her back on anyone needing her help, especially children. She always made time for all and was a great listener. She made many friends during her long career. She not only worked and raised her five children to become successful adults but helped raise her grandchildren as well. To her the most important thing in life was her family.

Norma died on the 5 th anniversary of her youngest daughter’s death (Meri-K). She died 4 months short of making it to 100 years old. Her wise guidance and never-ending love will not be forgotten.

A peaceful family gathering will take place August 21, 2022. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your favorite charity in her name.
