Warren Erwin Abraham

Warren Erwin Abraham, 80, passed away at Summit Rehabilitation Center in Aurora CO on November 24, 2022. After several years of health issues and a few months in the hospital, he went home to be with Jesus and be reunited with his wife, Rosemary. Warren was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

After being drafted to the Army during the Vietnam War, Warren enlisted in the Air Force and embarked on a twenty-year career. He married Rosemary Simonson on October 28, 1967; together they lived in many different locations including Minnesota, Hawaii, Michigan, Nebraska, Alabama, and Virginia.

AfterWarren was stationed at Lowry Air Force base for two years, he was told he would be transferred back to the Pentagon. At that time, Warren retired from the Air Force in 1986, and spent the rest of his life in Aurora, Colorado. Following Warren’s retirement, he worked at Colorado National Bank for several years until he “retired” to work a variety of part time accounting position and have more time with his grandchildren.

Warren has been a member at Peace with Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO since 1986.  Warren did not always seek out social situations, but certainly thrived in them. His greatest joys came through service to his family and service to the Lord. Warren and Rosemary were married for 53 years prior to her passing in 2020. Together, they had two sons and 9 grandchildren. Warren loved to spend time with his grandchildren and spoil them as much as he could.

At the age of 70, Warren went on his first international mission trip to Haiti and developed a new passion. Warren loved to travel to the orphanage with Mission Experience and spend time sharing love and joy with the children there. In the last few years of his life, Warren developed a passion for building the medical center in Haiti. In his final weeks of life, Warren said that his calling to his grandchildren and to the Haiti mission were what kept him going.

Warren is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Katie) and Adam (Melissa). Warren leaves behind nine grandchildren: Cailyn, Daniel, Ailee, Jaedyn, Addison, Ella, Avery, Matthew, and Caleb as well as all the children he loved so much in Haiti. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law: Vern (Pat).

Warren Abraham was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Abraham, his father Erwin Abraham, and his sister Diane Danielwicz.

A funeral service will be held on December 10 at 11:00 am and Peace with Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora. Warren will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors at 1:00 on December 19, 2022.
