Paula Marie Carmody
Paula Marie Carmody came into this world on a beautiful fall day, September 9, 1951 in Washington, Indiana and left this world on a beautiful fall day, October 31, 2022 in Denver, Colorado due to complications of MS.
Her life was a multifaceted beautiful tapestry. Paula’s tapestry was full of love and vitality. As a young girl, Paula moved from Indiana to Phoenix, Arizona where she graduated from Sunnyslope High School in June of 1969. Paula met the love of her life in February of 1970 and married Michael Paul Carmody on May 23, 1970 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Paula loved to sew and during her lifetime, she sewed countless doll clothes, dresses, a Prom dress, a wedding veil, countless Halloween costumes for her daughters, co-workers and grandchildren. She created Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls for her daughters and all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters and husband. Her travels were as diverse as her creations, she traveled to Ireland (her favorite) and she backpacked through several National Parks with her daughters and husband, even meeting up with a bear. But, her favorite place to travel was Disneyland. She had a special love for Disneyland and she shared this love with her husband, daughters, grandchildren, brothers and her friends. Disneyland was a place where her inner child was allowed to thrive and just being there with her made those around her happy.
In the dozens of times she visited both Disneyland and Disney World, she opened and closed the parks, every time. We are sure she is walking in Heaven with Mickey Mouse.
Paula also had a beautiful soprano voice which she shared by singing in school in Phoenix, Arizona, singing in her church choir when she was raising her family in Montrose, Colorado and she was a mainstay at the Magic Circle Playhouse where she was cast in multiple musicals where she could share her voice with the world. She got her husband involved as well and her biggest fans, her daughters, were always in the audience. But, her best performance was singing lullabies to her daughters and grandchildren, it is here where her tapestry was woven with an immense amount of love.
Paula is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Carmody; her parents Paul and Jewel Pridemore; as well as her brother Brad Pridemore. She will be missed by her daughters: Katie Carmody (Doug Conrad) and Kelley Elsner (Danny Elsner), her grandchildren: Joseph Elsner, Mackenzie Lobato, Jordan Lobato, Taryn Elsner and Curtis Elsner, her brothers: Mike Pridemore and Roger Pridemore (Cindy Pridemore) and her nieces and nephews. We love you.
