Alaina Archuleta Ramirez

Alaina Archuleta Ramirez walked on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Alaina was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her brother Patrick, mother Glenda, father John Archuleta. She is survived by her husband Angelo and son Mo, sister Melanie and her child Lee. Alaina was called Lala by those close to her and will be missed dearly.


Lala earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Northern Colorado. Lala was an active member of the American Indian student group during her time there. Her professional career led her to serve Indian country across Turtle Island. Lala devoted her talents to the American Indian College Fund, Council of Energy Resource Tribes, National Indian Gaming Association, First Nations Development Institute. She loved her people and was devoted to them.

Lala grew up playing sports-- softball and volleyball, where she learned how to be a team player and leader on the field. She loved all music and learned how to play the accordion to start an all-woman mariachi band. Lala’s smile could light up a room. Her energy was magnetic. She always was full of cheer and kind to those she encountered. She was strong-willed and cared about people. She loved life; her diverse background gave her a view of the world‘s possibilities, not flaws. Lala loved children, and she was blessed with Mo late in life. He was her everything. “Just keep smiling” was her motto.
