Glen David Robinson, age 69, of Denver, CO died April 12th, 2021 from dementia complications.

Glen was born August 8th, 1951 in Montgomery, AL to Charles and Virginia Robinson. He spent most of his childhood in Birmingham where he attended Homewood Jr. High and Shades Valley High School.  Glen had many stories to share about the adventures he had growing up in that area.

Glen moved west as a young man and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. He worked in and around Farmington, NM for 40 years in the oil field and for BHP in the coal industry. He purchased 10 acres in LaPlata, NM where he designed a passive solar home that fit perfectly into the New Mexico landscape and built a life for himself and his family. He married the love of his life, Mary “Frances” Robinson, on June 8th, 1980. He was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football--ROLL TIDE! He loved music and attended many concerts and festivals over the years with friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Glen loved to hike, bike, fish, and camp and spent many days enjoying the great outdoors. He was scrupulously honest and lived his life guided by honor and integrity. He was especially proud of his sons, Dr. Zachary Robinson and Matthew Robinson, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Glen is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Frances Robinson, his son Zachary Robinson and wife Jessie Robinson, his son Matthew Robinson, and his three grandchildren Joehl Crawford-Robinson, Teagan Robinson, and Tallyn Robinson, all of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his brother Michael Robinson and his family of Waco, Texas, and his sister, Susan Luth and her family of Mount Dora, Florida.  And last but not least, his beloved dog, Maggie May.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be scheduled at a later date due to the risks of COVID-19. Glen’s family is especially grateful to Dr. William Solomon and the staff at Juniper Village for their love and guidance while navigating the world of dementia. Memorial donations can be made in Glen’s name to Juniper Village in Aurora, CO, where he was lovingly cared for in the last years of his life. Juniper Village, 11901 E. 'Tis a Fearful Thing (by Yehuda Halevi)

Tis a fearful thing

to love what death can touch.

A fearful thing

to love, to hope, to dream, to be –

to be,

And oh, to lose.

A thing for fools, this,

And a holy thing, a holy thing

to love.

For your life has lived in me,

your laugh once lifted me,

your word was gift to me.

To remember this brings painful joy.

‘Tis a human thing, love,

a holy thing, to love

what death has touched
