It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmie Barela announces his passing on December 10, 2021.

Jimmie was a Colorado native raised in North Denver. He recently retired from UPS after a 40-year long career.

Jimmie wore many hats as a father, son, brother, coach, and friend. His loving hands have touched many people throughout his walk of life.

Jimmie will be deeply missed by his daughter Felicia Barela (Kendall), mother Viola Barela, sister Anita Kilbey (Kyle), brother Alfonso Barela (Charlene), nephews Dion and Mitchell Barela and Keith Kilbey, nieces Melissa Barela and Katie Muth, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 18th at Highlands United Methodist church, 3131 Osceola St., Denver CO 80212 followed by a reception at Sons of Italy, 5925 W. 32nd Ave., Wheat Ridge CO 80212.
