June 3, 1929- September 14, 2020

On Monday, September 14, 2020 Shirley Ann Zerby Holcomb Ledbetter as she liked to be known, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. Shirley will be forever in the hearts of  her children Chris, Karol and Craig (deceased) Holcomb, her brother James Zerby “BB,” sister in Law Dee Zerby “SIL,” and her Grandchildren Kelly, Chad, Alexis, Hillary, Nikki Lee, and Stacia (deceased). Shirley’s Great Grandchildren Isaiah, Donovan, Audrey, Aiden, Abby, Blaine, Alexa, Kayla, Emma, Malia and Jacob were all loved by her. Shirley will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.  She grew up in North Liberty, Indiana and later settled in South Bend, Indiana. Shirley lived a full life, had a successful career, loved to ride her horse, was known for her high energy and red hair, so loved family Christmas get-togethers and was just fun to be around. She has now been reunited with her late husband Sherman Lee Ledbetter and many others we have lost who are now on the other side of life.

There will be no formal services. She wanted you to listen to Mario Lanza’s song “Guardian Angels.” Shirley wanted to share her ashes with people to keep or spread in their own way in her memory and then to share their tribute and what they did with us. Our Mom said she would like to be in many beautiful places and be able to “travel” everywhere and she laughed. In going through some paperwork we found a “to do list”  from recent times and it read: Horseback ride, see Karol Ski, maybe Zip Line, See Lion King, Go to Universal to Hogwarts, and see a million stars in the sky. This may give you some ideas…

She will be greatly missed on this side of life.
