Benjamin Herrera, 77, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed in peace on July 9, 2020. Born October 2, 1942 in Las Animas, Colorado.  He grew up in Crowley County and graduated from Manzanola High School where friends knew him as Benji.  Shortly after high school Benjamin was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Later, he remained a very devoted worker and spent most of his time tending to his lawn and snow removal business. Besides loving his work, Benjamin enjoyed spending time with his dog Bebo, listening to Mexican music, and enjoying his favorite Mexican food from Tamale Kitchen.

Survived by son Frank, and daughter-in-law, Kellie, sister Mary West, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and his beloved dog Bebo. Preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann (Toney), parents Frank Herrera and Emily Aragon, brothers Alfred, Carlos, David, and sister Delores (Martinez).

Benjamin had quite the zest for life. "You're full of piss and vinegar," a quote used commonly by his mother-in-law sums it all up.

Burial services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.  Due to Covid, the day and time will be announced at a later date.
