Callahan, John "JJ" or “Johnny”
John Callahan, known to his friends as "JJ" or “Johnny” to his family passed away on June 9, 2020, at the age of 77.
Born and raised in Louisiana. At 17 years of age JJ left his hometown and went East to study at Kroger’s baking school. Soon after that he joined the military, where he spent 22 years as a photographer for the U.S. Air Force traveling to many different parts of the world taking photos ranging from warzones to the white house meeting people of different race and culture. He also worked 17 years for the Bureau of Land Management. He loved and was loved by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Ligaya (Lou), stepson Dominick Foster, daughters Johnny Callahan and Jenny Callahan, sisters Daisy Hardy and Fannie Johnson, brothers Harrison M. (Louise) Callahan and Jerry (Joyce) Callahan, brother in-law John Heard, nieces Darlene Hardy (AJ), Connie (Bruce) Johnson, Beverly H (Ramon) Decuir just to name a few, nephews, and cousins.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Gertrude Callahan; his sisters, Ollie Emanuel, Josie Ellis, Zerline Heard and his brother James Callahan.
