Joshua James Allen
Joshua James Allen, 41, of Thornton, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 22, 2020. He was born on October 27, 1978, in Boulder, Colorado.
Josh attended Westminster High School and was an exceptional athlete in football and wrestling.
Growing up and throughout his life, Josh had a love and passion for music. He was self-taught and became so great that he was destined to become a part of the Colorado music scene shredding his guitar in local bands. In the early 2000’s Josh hit the stage as a guitarist in the band, “Control Element”. Throughout Josh’s life, music continued to inspire him. He never laid down his guitar and continued to let the music flow from his heart into the lives of everyone around him.
Josh was not only passionate about music. His career as a sub-contractor and wood finisher for over 20 plus years was more than just a job, it was his passion. He was so good at it that he was sought after on jobs around the State of Colorado and in other states as well. He was known for his impeccable accuracy, excellence and strong work ethic. Josh was known for taking things that were broken and making them into masterpieces. Josh served as a true leader and his dedication to his work will not be forgotten. He will be missed by the many friends and colleagues with whom he worked.
Yet Josh wasn’t just a loyal worker – perhaps his greatest legacy was that he was a friend to every person he touched. Indeed, his friendship was the kind that you rarely see or hear about – it was unconditional, selfless, genuine, kind, and always familiar. Anyone who knew Josh personally knows how he could light up a room on the darkest of days. He was the type of person who would have done anything for his family and friends. He adored his wife and son, his parents, his siblings, each family member and friend. Each was a treasure to him.
It wasn’t only one friend who noted, “He was one in a million, a great human being with a heart of gold. His sense of humor was witty and one of a kind…We laughed until we cried and we cried until we laughed.” Josh was an empathic listener and was always willing to help those in need - whether it was offering mental or physical support – he always stepped up. And most of all, he made every person he touched feel like they were the most important. If Josh had one final request, it would be to take care of his family and take care of each other.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Leah Aragon-Allen; son, Noah Allen; Father, Thomas Allen; Mother, Barbara Allen, (Broomfield, Co); Sister, Michelle Rowe, and Family (Fruita, Colorado); Brother, Brian Allen and Family (Brighton, Colorado); Sister, Suzie Bullock and Family (Aurora, Colorado) and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Josh was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Josephine Hipps; Grandfather; Robert Hipps; Grandmother, Esther Irene Memmesheimer; Grandfather, Eugene Curtis Allen.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kramer Family Funeral Home in Denver, Colorado. A Celebration of Josh’s life will take place Saturday, June 27th, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Stonebrook Manor Event Center and Gardens in Thornton, Colorado, 650 E. 124th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80241.
