Antoinette Alire

On Monday, December 1, 2020 Antoinette Alire, loving mother of three children and older sister, passed away at the age of 71

Antoinette was born on October 29th, 1949 in Denver, CO to Jose Herbert Alire  and Anita C. (Apodaca) Jacquez. She graduated from St. Joseph in 1967. She was an accomplished ballet and flamenco dancer. A political activist in the 70’s, Entrepreneur in the 80’s and Gourmet Chef. She married and divorced Louie Sandoval and had three children with him, Javier, Zachary and a daughter.

Antoinette was was a beauty queen who grew up a fighter her whole life. She always had a heart for the less fortunate, she took over a soup kitchen in the 90’s and refused to serve anything less than quality food. On nights she cooked the line would wrap around the block and became the most popular place to eat at rivaling 5 star restaurants. She would be offered multiple personal chef jobs by CEOs, famous Musicians/Bands, Rappers and Gangster. She had an adventurous spirit that would take her sons on unforgettable trips. She was known around Denver nightlife as Ann the Hot Tamale Mamma and be invited backstage at concerts to feed the band. She meet many celebrities and athletes and had a life even her children didn’t know about. She was loved. 

Antoinette was preceded in death by her father, Herbert, her mother, Anita, sister Patrice, brother, Geoffrey and grandson, Adam. She is survived by her children, Javier (Gina), Zachary (Yvette) and a daughter, grandson Javier II, her brothers Jay and David and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 5, 2020 at the His Love Fellowship on 910 Kalamath St, Denver, CO 80204 at 11 o’clock a.m. Due to Covid facial mask and social distancing will be in effect, temperatures will be taken, also there will be no reception for health concerns. We will have a celebration of life at a later date. We ask that you wear something pink.
