It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Jones announces his passing, on November 5, 2020. He had a terrible fall in November of 2017 and had been struggling due to a traumatic brain injury that induced dementia. Jimmy will be remembered by his wife, Sara Jones, his daughter Michelle Jones, son Mark Jones, step-children, Kristi Zimmerman, and Bill Remick & wife Diana, his grandchildren: Kalen Jones-Riley & Haley Jones-Nelan, Tucker & Payton Jones (& their mother, Shawna), Megan & Kelby Zimmerman, Rayann Remick (& great granddaughter Everleigh), Riley & Ryan Remick, by his siblings: Janice Hepp, Butch Jones & wife Judy, Spike Jones & wife Ann, his step-mother Margaret Jones, & many extended family members & life-long friends. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Betty P. Jones & Lloyd E. Jones.
Jimmy graduated from Alamosa HS in 1967, & later Adams State College (now ASU) in Alamosa with a Teaching degree & taught PE for 3 years at Central School where he was loved by his students. He then helped run Jones Construction, eventually owning it, where he was very skilled at operating heavy equipment. He loved his family & many friends, loved animals, camping, fishing & boating. He moved to Santa Fe & worked there until his accident.
A celebration of life will be announced in Spring of 2021. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in the memory of Jimmy may do so at that time, also to be announced.
