Carl L. Urich
Carl L. Urich, 90, of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away on November 16th, 2020 from complications brought on by the COVID-19 virus.
He was born in Montcalm County Michigan on March 11th, 1930. Carl is a graduate from Grand Blanc High School and graduated from General Motors Chevrolet Trade school as a mechanical engineer. He met his beautiful wife at Bendle High School. Edna Gorringe Urich (deceased) became his best friend through thick and thin for 68 years. Carl and Edna lived in a variety of states including Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Wyoming , and finally in Colorado for the last 42 years. Carl worked in the automotive industry and was also an inventor of an emissions control device. This was his passion for many years.
Carl is survived by his three (3) children Michael Urich, Mark Urich, and Dawn Urich Swift, as well as his grandchildren Matthew Darwin-Urich Swift and Robert Vincent-Urich Swift. Carl was predeceased by his wife Edna, his sister Yvonne (Vonnie), his brother Roger (Butch), parents Darwin Ralph Urich and Clarice Irene (Mangus) Urich.
Carl was well known in his later years for his storytelling. He often would recount stories of his foreign travels and meetings with prominent individuals interested in his invention. Carl was forever an optimist. His positive attitude was infectious with everyone he met.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date when his friends and family can gather together to rejoice in Carl’s accomplishments and achievements, and his love of life.
