Douglas Patrick Newville
Douglas Patrick Newville, known to many as ‘Groovey’, entered his journey home on October 3rd, 2020, at the age of 54 years.
Groovey was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Milwaukee and Majored in English with a History Minor. After graduating he attended CU Boulder where he received his Major in Publishing.
Groovey was deeply woven into the local music scene and expanded into the National scene. He was the founder and owner of the media group known as Groovey.TV.
He conducted countless interviews throughout the years with numerous bands, actors and performers. So many that he achieved making the Guinness Book of World Records by breaking the record for the most interviews done within 24 hours, fulfilling a childhood dream of being in the book.
Groovey wrote for many media publications over the years both online and off. His life and dedication was heavily embedded through the fabric of the music industry, comic industry and horror industry, with his latest works being in short Horror and comedy films.
He had a deep passion for the arts and brought out his uniqueness in the entertainment industry.
Groovey was a giver of life and gifted many with the light that he carried. He devoted his time, his patience and his loyalty to those that he loved and loved him in return.
He is proceeded in his passing by his Mother, Joyce Carol Hoppe, his Father, Marvin Harrison Newville, and his brother, Michael Marvin Newville.
Groovey's spirit has, and will continue to be woven into the hearts of his family who love him and to the countless many who he met along the way that call him a dear friend and brother.
